I recently purchased an x3 m sport with the turbo v6, I purchased it from a non Bmw dealer and haven’t talked to anyone about maintaining one. How is it Maintaining the thing. I love it so far.

The BMW pushrod V6 is very reliable because it’s based on their 5.3L V8.

That’s the V6 that’s based on their V4 isn’t it? Sounds good.

How many miles? I would replace the electtic water pump at 60k miles before it leaves you stranded.

I thought the M-Sport only came with the flathead V6 that is notorious for VTEC failure?

The Issue with BMW’s V6 is that it’s a derivative of their old aircraft flat-24, as is the 5.3 V8. Bot therefor suffer from complex, cramped engine bays that can lead to problems with both the ailerons and the ACP.

JDM only got the rear-engined A3.

Nothing to worry about, the KB30 V6 in the X3 is stupid reliable like the v8 that’s in the 3rd gen prius.
